The quilt top was assembled by Judy Booth, Linda Kowalski, and Marcia Wachuta. The Free Style Quilting was done by Marcia Wachuta of Marcia’s Crafty Sewing/Quilting. Marcia designed the “Crazee Patch” Paper Pieced Heart Block that was used for each block. Here are a few pictures of the Paper Pieced "Crazee Patch" Heart Blocks for the "Quilt for a Cure" Quilt. We assembled HEART Blocks on Saturday, September 30th for our Quilt for a Cure Quilt. I will make a label with all of our names on it to go with the quilt for the Susan G. Komen Quilt Auction. Within the Carriage House (in Boscobel, WI) is a special arts and crafts room, where the Blue River Quilters enjoy collaborating on quilting projects. In honor of breast cancer awareness month, individual heart squares are being created, that will later be sewn together into a beautiful commemorative quilt. Marcia designed a paper pieced "Crazee Patch" Heart that we enlarge to make a 9 1/2" finished block for our Quilt for a Cure Quilt. We all used a variety of Pinks to individualize each block! Linda Kowalski and Judy Booth volunteered to sew the blocks together. We constructed a pieced lattice out of donated scraps of pink fabrics - Dorothy Williams donated most of the small strip pieces for the lattice. I will add the borders this weekend and the fourpatch corners stones and a fancy label with more blocks on the back with all the details of who did what! What do you think so far???

-------------------------------- I made these MINI Postcard Comfort Quilts to send to friends serving overseas. See info below.... I found a website that gives you a FREE paper pieced pattern for a MINI Postcard quilt to send to those serving overseas. I made three so far. Plan to make several this 4th of July weekend. The first three are going off in the mail today! Make one and send our love and support to those serving in the military. To do traditonal paper piecing, I reversed (mirror image) before I printed it! I also did NOT do a separate binding. I added a border strip on all four sides and then placed the right sides together and stitched twice all the way around leaving a small opening on one side. I clipped the corners and turned it right sides out. Poked the corners out! And pressed it and top stitched the edges!
